Wishful Thinking was a short and very sweet read. Just the sort of thing a woman needs when it's been a bad day and all she wants is some tender, vanilla loving.
Mia was a total sweetheart and I really liked how the story progressed through her feelings about her aunt, her daughter, and the risk of loving someone else and having to give up her life where she could help people. I would have loved to have a bit more detail about her life previous to when the story started, but that would just have been icing on the cake. I almost think that having Jack fall so hard and so fast for Mia is a bit of wishful thinking itself, but then again, I'm definitely not going to argue against love at first sight. It was exactly what made the story such a soother. Perhaps it's odd to say, but I felt like this story was just the right length -- I got the romance, the bed action, and the happily ever after -- and this story does feel like it's all nicely wrapped up in a pretty bow in the end.

Book Length: Novella
In need of a change of scenery, workaholic Jack Cullen takes a vacation to an isolated island in northern New England. He isn’t prepared for the unusual antics of the inn’s owner, a woman claiming to be a witch, or his powerful attraction to her mysterious niece.
Mia just wants to live her life in peace. Raising her daughter by herself, coupled with her job as a healer, she doesn’t have much time to pursue a relationship. Since Jack is only around for a few weeks, he seems like the perfect solution to her loneliness—until the time comes for him to leave, and she finds herself wishing he’d stay.
Publisher’s Note: Novella originally appeared in the anthology In Moonlight.
