With Doomsday looming in the not so far future, the Nightkeepers continue the battle to halt the prophesized Apocalypse of December 21, 2012. Now they are on the search for an ancient library that holds the key to much of their magic, if only they can discover the location before their enemies.
Sasha Ledbetter grew up listening to the legends of the Mayan Nightkeepers. She figured them to be naught but the ramblings of a madman. Now she is faced with the reality of the myth. Forced to realize her part to fulfill a prophecy.
Michael Stone holds himself distant from his fellow Nightkeepers. He has a secret that he can't let them know about. He holds a secret that could destroy them all. There is a power deep inside him unlike the magic of the Nightkeepers, and he's scared that he may turn against them if he can't maintain the blocks holding the Other back.
How long will they fight their attraction before they surrender to the heat of passion? Can Sasha and Michael overcome their fears and learn to use their powers together in their battle against time and the end of the world?
SKYKEEPERS is another exciting chapter in the countdown to the end of the Mayan Calender. Jessica Andersen's complex tale intertwines love, honor and the pursuit of saving the world. While I love this series and the characters, I had a rough time connecting with the romance between Sasha and Michael. I'm having trouble putting my finger on what was exactly wrong, but there was just a disconnection that I felt with them. I found myself skimming the pages of them fighting their passion, as I was eager for them to just resolve their issue with each other and get onto discovering a resolution for the end of the world.
Ms. Andersen does an outstanding job bringing a legend to life in this fascinating book. I was absorbed into the scenes where the Nightkeepers were seeking the library, and as they battled to stop the Apocalypse. I can't wait to see what is in store for them next, and eagerly look forward to Lucius and Jade's story DEMONKEEPERS.
